This makes us one of the few genuine full-service providers on the market. Our range of services also includes conference and media technology, the integration of business intelligence solutions for the automated influence of the content at the POS or POI, as well as Smart Home technology. Gundlach SEEN MEDIA GmbH, Aachen/ Düsseldorf/ Hamburg combines all previous activities and has been one of the strongest stakeholders in digital communication for the point of sale / point of interest in Germany since September 1, 2016.

A long tradition forms a solid foundation
The Gundlach Group is a family business founded by Ernst-Ludwig Gundlach in 1847 with a focus on printing, publishing and programming, which is now managed by Paul von Schubert in the 7th generation. Gundlach has produced advertising for the point of sale for over 125 years, with a focus on digital channels since 2012. Gundlach is one of the oldest family-led companies in Germany. The enterprises of the Gundlach Group offer customized solutions to clients in a wide range of industries throughout Europe – with individual, competent support, the latest technical standards and sophisticated expertise. Its principle: As much human as possible and as much technology as necessary.

 

Transformation of the traditional company into the innovation driver
In the course of a consistent internal digitization, the Gundlach Group, which until then had operated in the business areas of packaging, printing and publishing, founded the new segment Process Intelligence in the early 1990s.
In 2014, the Gundlach Group took over the company Intelligent Service Solutions – which integrated one of the first and at the time largest closed digital signage networks in Europe in 2008 – from the company founder Benjamin Otto in Hamburg and merged it with its digital signage section.

As Gundlach Intelligent Solutions, the company gained an excellent reputation in the planning, execution and maintenance of highly individualized digital signage solutions. The employees’ well-established (media-) technology expertise makes it possible to plan and install personalized solutions that satisfy all of the customer’s expectations while also optimally blending into the specific interior to achieve the best possible results.
Interested parties like to rely on the company’s expertise especially in the planning and realization of large rollouts. The experiences which the company has gained and consistently improved in this area since 2008 are reflected in numerous successful customer projects.

To date, Gundlach Intelligent Solutions is considered one of the leading technical providers for intelligent audio-visual communication solutions.

 

Parallel development of SEEN MEDIA
In 2008, when Intelligent Service Solutions, one of the first and at the time largest closed digital signage networks in Europe was integrated, a new player emerged on the market: SEEN MEDIA GmbH was founded in 2008 as an establishment of the Aachen-based system house ICT GmbH. The two founders and today’s managing directors Stefan Knoke and Markus J. Deserno wanted to systematically advance the digital signage projects that were already supported by ICT, as well as the developments in the young digital signage industry. With nearly 15 years of experience in projects for large and medium-sized companies and constantly expanded know-how, SEEN MEDIA positioned itself among the top digital signage integrators in Germany and Europe.

The company relied on a comprehensive portfolio for the realization of digital POS and POI solutions from the start. It focused particularly on the specific conception and implementation of customer requirements, as well as the optimal interaction between hardware, software and content.

SEEN MEDIA has been able to significantly enhance its expertise and market position in recent years, particularly in the areas of conception and content. The concept and content creation now occupies a key role in the success of digital signage projects. Content specialists design and program sophisticated, customer-specific solutions: From graphic user surfaces to interfaces for the connection of merchandise management and CRM systems. This spectrum increasingly also includes cross-channel solutions which enable the use of digital signage content on different platforms.

 

Merger into Gundlach SEEN MEDIA
Gundlach acquired the majority in SEEN MEDIA at the end of 2016. As of September 1, 2016, Gundlach Intelligent Solutions and SEEN MEDIA appear together as Gundlach SEEN MEDIA GmbH, which makes them one of the largest digital signage providers in the DACH region.
